Terms & Conditions - Training

Behaviour Awareness

  • Owners must disclose any known aggression, fear-based behaviours, or reactivity toward dogs, people, or other animals prior to booking.

  • Zoomies Dog Training & Adventures reserves the right to decline or discontinue training if a dog’s behaviour poses a risk to safety. In such cases, referrals to alternative professionals may be recommended.
     

Medical Conditions, Allergies, Vaccinations & Registration

  • Owners must inform Zoomies of any health conditions, past injuries, allergies, or behavioural concerns before training begins.

  • All dogs must be up to date with core vaccinations, including but not limited to: Canine Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough, and Leptospirosis.

  • Dogs must be regularly treated for fleas, ticks, and worms.
     

Expectations & Training Approach

  • While Zoomies will make every effort to help owners reach their goals, no guarantee is made regarding outcomes or behaviour changes.

  • Dog behaviour is influenced by genetics, environment, health, and owner follow-through.

  • Owners (and household members) must agree to follow the training plan as provided.

  • Daily practice and consistency are essential. Concerns should be raised during the training period so that we can adjust the plan accordingly.

  • Only positive reinforcement and force-free methods are used. We do not permit tools such as prong collars, choke chains, or shock collars.

  • Training is delivered by Lisa Telle or an approved Zoomies assistant trainer.

  • Sessions are conducted at the client’s home or a mutually agreed location depending on the training goals.

  • Each session is approximately 1 hour, though timing may vary depending on your dog’s needs.

  • After the first session, a custom training plan in PDF format will be emailed within 3–5 business days, along with any relevant video support.

  • Owners are encouraged to stay in touch between sessions for extra guidance or questions.
     

Photo / Media Permission

  • Unless otherwise stated in writing, owners grant Zoomies permission to photograph or record training sessions for documentation or promotional purposes.

  • Some sessions may be recorded for internal or educational use, but these will not be shared publicly without consent.
     

Payment, Opening Hours, Cancellations & Refunds

  • All fees must be paid as invoiced.

  • Zoomies operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

  • Training must be pre-booked, and no refunds are available once training has started.

  • Cancellations or reschedules require at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Invoices are sent weekly to your nominated email and must be paid within 7 days.

  • Overdue invoices may result in paused sessions until payment is received.
     

Other

  • These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time.

  • By booking with Zoomies, owners agree to the current version available on the website.

  • Acceptance of these terms applies to all future training sessions.
     

Client Information

To participate in training, you must ensure we have your dog's current information on file, including:

  • Dog’s full name

  • Desexing status

  • Any health history, surgeries, allergies, or behavioural concerns

  • Emergency vet contact information
     

This info must be provided prior to your dog’s first session so we can tailor training to their individual needs.

Terms & Conditions - Adventures

Medical Conditions, Allergies, Vaccinations & Registration

  • Owners must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, behavioural concerns, or temperament issuesrelating to their dog prior to handover.

  • All dogs must be fully up to date with vaccinations, including but not limited to: Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Kennel Cough, and Leptospirosis.

  • Dogs must be treated for fleas, ticks, and worms before attending any Adventure outings.

  • All dogs must be currently registered with their local council.


​Client & Dog Information

  • To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care, the following information must be provided and up to date prior to any Adventure outing:

  • Your dog’s full name and desexing status

  • Any current or past surgeries, health conditions, allergies, or behavioural concerns

  • Your nominated veterinary clinic and contact details for emergencies

  • This information helps us tailor our care to your dog’s unique needs and respond quickly in case of an emergency.
     

Injuries, Illness, Risks & Accidents

  • Owners acknowledge that Zoomies Dog Training & Adventures offers off-lead group outings, which include physical activity, exposure to natural elements, and dog-to-dog interactions. Participation involves inherent risks.

  • In the event of illness or injury, Zoomies is authorised to seek veterinary care on the owner's behalf. Wherever possible, the nominated vet will be contacted first.

  • All veterinary and medical expenses are the responsibility of the owner.

  • While every safety precaution is taken—such as choosing safe adventure locations, carrying first aid supplies, and using trained staff—Zoomies will not be held liable for injuries or incidents that arise from natural hazards or unforeseen events.
     

Time & Location

  • Pickup and drop-off times may vary depending on the day’s route and destination. Dogs are typically in our care for 1.5 to 3 hours per session.

  • Adventure locations are selected by the Zoomies team based on weather, group dynamics, safety, and individual dog needs. Locations include various dog-friendly, council-approved spaces throughout Central Otago.
     

Photo / Media Permission

  • Owners grant permission for Zoomies to photograph or record video of their dog for training, documentation, or promotional purposes unless otherwise requested in writing.

  • Some sessions may be recorded for quality assurance or educational use.
     

Payment, Opening Hours, Cancellations & Refunds

  • Owners agree to pay all service fees as invoiced by Zoomies Dog Training & Adventures.

  • Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

  • Bookings are essential and subject to availability. Last-minute bookings may be accepted if space allows.

  • Cancellations require 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations may incur a full session fee.

  • Invoices are sent weekly to your nominated email address unless otherwise arranged. Payment is due by the invoice due date.

  • Services may be paused if invoices are overdue.

  • These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time. You will be notified when updates occur.
